Big fire in Friday Harbor

Runway condition update 2022 April 8
received from Vince this morning –
So had a bit o dry last two days.
Runway is still in winter condition.
But improving. Need a few more days of dry and you’ll have a surface. Jason landed yesterday but struggled to get on and off runway.
Use west two thirds of runway land in the middle park by mail shed. This year has been very hard.
Propane
A note from Harbor Propane
We are planning on a propane delivery to both Stuart West & Stuart East the month of April for the Spring delivery. We will deliver in the Fall as well – either August or September.
As we have in prior years, there will be a Stop Charge along with the cent/gallon fee in order to cover the cost of the barge.
If you need propane this Spring, please email your tank percentage or call 360-378-0379.
If you’re OK on propane at this time, we can get you filled up in the Fall. If we don’t hear from you, we will assume that propane is not needed at this time.
Thank you,
Bob Rautenberg
Sloppy runway
Spring is almost here, but the runway thinks that it is mid winter! Our main runway observer Vince has this report – “Mucky. Total winter runway, wish I had good news. You can land on the west 2/3 of the runway and stop on the west end but there is standing water.”
It has really rained the last couple of days. Vince said he would update this report by Friday. Be careful
Humpback Barge Maintenance
Info from Mark re the Humpback…
FYI – The Humpback will be out of service March 24 April 10 for maintenance. Hopefully we can get back before April 10, but please plan accordingly. The Narwhal will be available. Thanks,Mark
Note from Rhys
All of the ground on the taxiways and runway is extremely soft. Please don’t drive vehicles on any of these surfaces unless absolutely necessary to get to a hangar or tie down lot. Remember that the rut created, if not repaired, can damage an airplane.
