Barge Share

Here is a note from Kipp Carroll –

I have a Humpback trip scheduled for March 19.  I would like to post on the website an offer to share it.
We will leave Roche about 0830-0845 on Wednesday March 19 with a van onboard, drop the van at Stuart, and have a 15-20 minute turnaround back to Roche with the barge empty.  If someone would like to share the barge in one or both directions, that would be great.
Anyone interested can contact me at wkcarroll55@gmail.com, phone 425-315-6828.
I hope you have had a good winter.  We are ready for Spring.
Thank you,
Kipp Carroll

The LA fires and us

This devastation in the Los Angeles area is a pretty glaring example of what can go wrong.

A few years ago Jason Douglass did all the research to get a list of the appropriate parts to be able to connect our individual water tanks to the portable water pumps that are all around the island. I read a story this morning about a family in LA, in the path of the fire, that used a generator, portable water pump, and a fire hose to draw water out of their swimming pool in order to keep their home and the surrounding plant growth wet. Their home was spared, while those around them burned down.

The moral to this story is let’s all redouble our efforts to make the water reserves that we all have available to fight a fire, or protect a structure in the path of a fire. No Mary the moral of the story is not to put in a pool!!

Happy Holidays

I got the following info from Loie re an event on the west side of our island. It sounds like fun I wish I was on the island. If you have questions Loie would be a good resource. I’ll try to get answers also if anyone is interested and has a question.
