Here are some pictures (thanks Charlene!). While the airport as a whole is really wet, the runway is surprisingly ok. It is still pretty firm. If we get more rain soon that will change though.
Runway gravel
Hey Pilots, if you fly in here you know about the area on the west end, middle of the runway, that has been a real trouble spot for years – grass wont grow, it’s pure clay, etc. Well, a big load of gravel has been put on this area, in an effort to help firm it up. So, until the gravel works its way into the ground, just beware – we wanted to let you all know about this activity.

Barge share
UPDATE – They found a barge share, thanks.
Dave and Dana Dysart have a barge set up to come to Stuart on 8/23, – there might be some room on the way over, but the return trip is open . They will return from Stuart to Roche on 9/1, so there is a Roche to Stuart leg available. Text Dana if interested at 425-466-2519
