Ok, the annual games, parade, happy hour and potluck will all be held on Saturday, July 6th. Take a look at the flyer below.
There will be a flea market and bake sale also. These will begin on Friday, july 5th, at the community hangar building.
Also, another great Bob Brunkow hangar event is coming up. Bob will host a square dance, at his hangar, on friday evening, July 5th. This is always a good time, try to be there.

“At the annual Stuart Island Homeowners Association General Meeting on May 26, Ron Garner, San Juan Island Fire Department, provided information regarding the “Fire Wise” fire protection program. Ron agreed to come back to Stuart Island to give a more in depth presentation to help safeguard our community from fire threat.
Ron will give his presentation at George & Charlene Renquist’s cabin on June 11 at 10:00 am.
Property owners are encouraged to attend this meeting & learn more to protect our island community.”

There was a large crowd Saturday night in Bob Brunkows hangar listening to Kate Schuman and Keith Busha make music. It was a great event, thanks Bob! Also, good picture..

The next morning brought light rain for the community meeting. I’ll post the draft minutes when I get them, but a couple items of interest – June B and Denny S agreed to serve another term on the board, so we have the same board members for at least another year. Charlene arranged for a member of the San Juan Island fire department to give us a little talk about a program called “FireWise”, more info on that later.

Later that day we had the annual Memorial Day social hour and pot luck. It is always a nice evening talking with our neighbors. Sally thanks for bringing the coconut dessert!
I set up an area for information regarding properties for sale. I also added a link to our friends Dick and Zita Sandmeyer, they are real estate agents that are very active on our island. Go check out the “Buying or selling property” area under “neighborhood” above.

As usual, there will be a social gathering (5pm) followed by a potluck on Sunday (6 pm).

“You’re invited to a hangar party Memorial day weekend, Saturday May 25th, at Bob Brunkow’s hangar.
Kate Schuman and Keith Busha will be bringing their great music to our island playing a mix of pop and jazz standards, country songs, a little blues, and Patsy Cline tunes. Kate has done a series of sold out shows with her Patsy Cline review.
Stuart style party… Bring your chairs and BYOB and some snacks if you’re so inclined.
We start around 6:30 and wrap up around 9 or so.
Should be a fun Stuart evening.”
