Boat Ramp / Fishing lodge trip auction

All, the association is raising some money in order to make improvements to our boat ramp.  There have been a couple fund raisers that have helped.  Recently owner Pat Hart donated a very nice trip to his lodge up in Alaska.  I will post details soon, but the intent is to auction the trip off and use the proceeds on the ramp project.  My understanding is that bidding is open and the winner will be announced over the labor day holiday activities.  I will post more details soon.

Thanks Pat Hart!

More Sad News..

We recently lost another long time resident and friend – Sandy Berman.  Sandy fought some awful cancer for many years.  One thing that always struck me was how cheerful she could be, even when she was going thru treatment.  Sandy you will be missed by our community.SandyBerman2

update..  We have a report that the owner of one of these boats tried to move her boat as requested, and it appears to have disappeared.  Please don’t consider any of these boats as “available for the taking” that is just not the case.  Just because the wording in the message includes “abandoned” does not mean they don’t have an owner.

Owners, the grassy area near the Prevost dock has several small boats in storage that need to be removed. Many of these haven’t been moved in years. I was asked to post the following message…

FROM THE STUART ISLAND ASSOCIATION BOARD OF TRUSTEES:
TO THE OWNERS OF THE ABANDONED DINGHIES BURIED IN THE GRASS AT PREVOST HARBOR: WOULD YOU PLEASE REMOVE THEM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE OR THE ASSOCIATION WILL DISPOSE OF THEM. THANK YOU.

Memorial Day meeting

The neighborhood meeting was well attended and thankfully uneventful.  Our neighborhood is running pretty smoothly and that is really good news.  There was discussion about the need to always be vigilant with fires.  Please move natural debris that you have accumulated down to the big burn pile by the community building, let’s avoid a bunch of individual fires.

I’ll try to post more info later, but in the mean time we want to thank outgoing board member Steve Knopp for his work for our community.  Rhys Spoor agreed to continue as a board member for another term, thanks Rhys.  New to the board this year is Kipp Carroll.  Kipp and his wife purchased Dave Clarks place.  Kipp thanks very much for volunteering to join our communities board of directors.
